The Orpheo Century Intermezzo speakers have a 2.5-way configuration, implemented with 16.5 cm transducers made of ultra-light and long-excursion material, as well as an AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter and a carefully designed crossover network aligned in time and phase.
The transducers made of ultra-light, high rigidity, low mass and long-excursion material provide very low distortion and high internal speed. This, with the purpose of maintaining the integrity of the harmonic structure of the music. In addition, its magnetic circuit composed of copper-sleeved rare earth magnets increases its ability to greatly reduce distortion.
The box that houses the transducers is built with several layers of materials of different characteristics: the first inner layer is absorbent for high frequencies; the next is a concrete sheet with high-stiffness fibers, and the third is HDF. These layers have different acoustic properties to prevent the cabinet from resonating at frequencies that add harmonics to the music.
The crossover network is one of the central parts of all Margules loudspeakers, as it allows the transducers to operate at their optimal parameters, aligning the time and phase of the signal, as well as its correct intensity, to achieve a linear signal and a realistic response, generating the engaging sound characteristic of Margules.
These crossover networks are of the first order with an air core to prevent them from becoming saturated. Its components include audiophile-grade elements, with extreme speed of response to transients and micro dynamics, which guarantees the reproduction of sound without coloration, through a wide dynamic range, as is customary in our brand.
Using natural elements combined with a high-tech nanometric coating that is easily repaired in case of scratches, with a front carved in a piece of walnut wood and finished in non-polluting oil, the Intermezzo speakers provide an aesthetic delight, only comparable to their acoustic perfection.
