The New Line Orpheo Century, model Overture has a two-way configuration, implemented with a 6.5 in. transducer made of ultra–lightweight, long excursion material, as well as an AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter and a carefully designed crossover network.
Transducers made of ultra–lightweight, high rigidity, low mass, and long excursion material provide very low distortion and high internal speed. This, with the purpose of maintaining the integrity of the harmonic structure of the music and audio.
The box that houses the transducers is built with several layers of materials with different characteristics: the first internal layer is absorbent for high frequencies; The following is a concrete sheet with high rigidity fibers and the third is HDF; These layers have different acoustic properties to prevent the box from resonating at frequencies that add harmonics to the audio.
The crossover network is one of the core parts of all Margules speakers, since it makes the transducers or speakers operate at their optimal parameters by aligning the time and phase of the signal, as well as the correct intensity of each one to achieve a linear and realistic response, generating the characteristic Margules sound.
These networks are of the first order with an air core to prevent them from saturating, their components include audiophile grade elements with extreme speed of response to transients and micro dynamics guaranteeing sound reproduction without coloration through a wide dynamic range as it is already custom in our brand.
Using natural elements combined with a high-tech nanometer coating that is easily repaired in case of scratches, with a front carved from a piece of walnut wood and finished in oil that does not pollute and can be repaired with relative ease, the aesthetic approach of the design was made by Deborah Margules and Miguel Gómez.
